He was born in 1982 in Congonhas, Brazil. He obtained his Technician degree in Electronic from the Federal Center for Technologic Education of Minas Gerais, Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineer, Master of Science, Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D) and Postdoctoral in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in signal processing applied to power quality, electronic design and instrumentation , from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora(UFJF).

His research career started during the first two years of his Engineering Degree, under the supervision of Dr. Maria Jose Valenzuela Bell, at the Department of Physics(U the JF), funded by a research scholarship from the Brazilian Government. His area of research was focused an Automatization applied Measurement instruments for optic spectroscopy.

During the course 2009-11, he pursued his Master Thesis at UFJF, under the supervision of Dr. Carlos Augusto Duque and Dr.Paulo F. Ribeiro (visiting researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology). His area of research was focused on the design of Signal Processing Platform for applications in power system. During his Ph.D and Postdoctoral under the supervision of Dr. Carlos Augusto Duque, his was focused in signal processing applied in power quality area. The title of his Ph.D thesis was "Study and implementation of a time varying harmonic analyser" and Post Doctoral was focused in "Real Time impedance estimation in power system".

Currently, he is a Postdoctoral in the Broadband Wireless Networking Lab under the supervision of Pr. Dr. Ian F. Akyildiz at the Georgia Institute of Technology, His current research is focused on Underground Sensor Networks for hydraulic fractures mapping and oil reservoir monitoring.
