This is the personal and professional website of Gregory Macfarlane. On this site, I collect various things I have done, and things that I continue to work on.
I am a doctoral candidate in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, and I am also a MS student in the School of Economics Georgia Tech. I am interested in factors that influence household vehicle purchases and use, and in how transportation infrastructure shapes urban housing markets. I also keep abreast of issues in transportation funding, policy, and international development, an interest born in extended periods living or working in China, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and the United Kingdom. I have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and minor degrees in Asian Studies and Mathematics, from Brigham Young University in my home town of Provo, Utah; prior to coming to Georgia Tech I was a travel demand analyst at the Utah Transit Authority in Salt Lake City.
