Scripts

During my time at Georgia Tech, I've written a number of useful scripts to simplify actions that I perform frequently. Most of these scripts are specific to Mac OS X and cannot be used on either Windows or Linux.

Printing Scripts

These printing scripts allow you to print to the GT Library, the GT Student Center, Central Printing, and the College of Computing (CoC).

Download GTPrint Printing Scripts v2.0.1 Allows you to print to the GT Library, the GT Student Center, and Central Printing from your print dialog. Printing in both portrait and landscape orientations is supported.

Printing to the College of Computing

To setup printing to the CoC on Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger):

1. Open Printer Setup Utility.
2. Click the Add button on the toolbar. A dialog will appear.
3. Click the IP Printer button on the toolbar.
4. From the Protocol menu, select HP Jet Direct - Socket.
5. For the address/name/location/printer model, specify one of:

LAWN Autologin Script

This script automatically logs you into LAWN, Georgia Tech's wireless network, whenever your computer connects to it.

Windows users should try the LawnLogin program written by Ethan Trewhitt.

	Download Login to GTWireless v1.3 for Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4) Automatically logs into LAWN when your computer connects to it.
	Delayed. A beta quality version will be available when I get time Download Login to GTWireless v2.0 for Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) Automatically logs into LAWN when your computer connects to it.

Login to GTWireless 2.0 Status

Delayed. I can't determine how to configure a script to be notified of a network change in Leopard. A beta quality version that polls the current network will be available when I find some spare time. Please contact me if you know of a new mechanism in Leopard that is equivalent to Tiger's Kicker bundle.

Other Scripts

Download Convert .webloc to .url v1.0 Converts Safari .webloc bookmarks to standard .url bookmarks that are understood by Firefox, IE, and other browsers.

Script Ideas

Modify Login to GTWireless and the GTPrint Printing Scripts to save the GT account/password in the keychain instead of as cleartext. Contact me if you know how to access the keychain from AppleScript.
