Notes

She has been described by some historians as a woman of great beauty. She was a Huguenots with very strong religious convictions. It was probably her strong personality that led their family out of France to Scotland, then to Ireland. It is believed by some that they lived in Limerick, Ireland, but most agree that t they were in the Northern part of Ireland. Three sons, Andrew, Robert, and John were born in Ireland and came with them to America in 1720.
