Spring of 1999, Audi will introduce a five door version of the A3. The new model will include features such as, one touch opening electric rear windows, an asymmetrical split rear seat, two reading lights, front and rear center lights, active reflectors, height adjustable front passenger seat. Two gas engines and a 1.9 litre TDI will be the available engine options.

Going on sale Spring of 1999 in Germany is the Audi S3, at an estimate DM 56,800. This new vehicle will combine an extremely high-torque turbocharged engine, quattro all wheel drive, and a sports suspension package. Some of the S3's features are Wide wheel arches, large air inlets, xenon head lights, fog lights, and 17" aluminum wheels. The car will be powered by a 1.8 litre turbocharged 4 that produces 210 bhp and a whooping 199 ft/lb of torque at 2100 rpm. All this power and torque go through a six speed gearbox on its way to the wheels.
