Audi A6 4.2 V-8



Debuted at the Geneva Auto show, on sale in Europe in April 1999, and on sale in the US in the fall, is the V-8 powered Audi A6. This new model will have the latest version of Audi's all wheel drive system, the quattro IV system. The system uses a Torsen center differential. The car will also feature a new electronic stability control unit. This unit, ESP, adjust the throttle, and can also a brake one wheel or a diagonally opposed pair of wheels. The 300 bhp will make its way to the 16" (17" with Sports package) wheels via a 5 speed tiptronic automatic transmission. Audi claims a 0 to 100km/h in6.9 seconds. The top speed is electonically governed to 250 km/h.
