Audi S4

In an effort to combat BMW's M series cars, Audi is expected to release a several of it S series cars. One of the first cars to be released will be the Audi S4. This already hot car is about to get hotter when Audi drops in a bi-turbo 2.7 litre. The engine is based on the 2.8 litre V-6 with 5 valve per cylinder, but will have a slightly narrowed bore and two small turbos. Audi claims the engine will pump out 258 ft/lbs of torque at 1850 rpms. Standard equipment will include a six speed manual transmission mated to Audi's infamous all wheel drive system. Also included is a sport suspension. The car will do 0 to 60mph in a scant 5.9 seconds. The car will go on sale in the fall of 1999. The cars starting price should be below the price of BMW's M3. Also, the bi-turbo option will be available in the year 2000 models of the A6.
