Research Interests

My general area of research is feedback control systems. My current interest is in distributed/complex systems. This work involves the control of networks of distributed decision making agents in uncertain and possibly hostile environments. Current/recent projects in this area are:

  • AFOSR/MURI: "Distributed learning and information dynamics in networked autonomous systems" (Jun09-May14), PI with Profs. E. Abed (UMaryland), M. Balcan (Gatech), J. Baras (UMaryland), M. Dahleh (MIT), L. Kaelbling (MIT), N. Martins (UMaryland), A. Ozdaglar (MIT), H.P. Young (Johns Hopkins).
  • ARO/MURI: "A cyber awareness framework for attack analysis, prediction, and visualization" (Jun09-May14). coPI with Prof. R. Kemmerer, PI (UCSB) and several others.
  • ONR: "Game theoretic learning for distributed autonomous collaboration" (Jun09-May14), PI with Profs. M. Balcan (Gatech), M. Dahleh (MIT), E. Frazzoli (MIT), and H.P. Young (Johns Hopkins).
  • AFOSR: "Dynamics of beliefs, culture, and social interactions" (Jan09-Dec13), coPI with Profs. A. Ozdaglar, PI (MIT), D. Acemoglu (MIT), and M. Dahleh (MIT).
  • AFOSR: "Coordinated multidisciplinary design of complex human machine systems" (Jul08-Oct11), PI with Profs. E. Feron (Gatech), L. Gasser (UIUC), and T. von Thaden (UIUC).
  • AFOSR: "Computational models for belief revision, group decisions, and cultural shifts" (May08-Apr10), with Prof. W. Richards, PI (MIT), and several others.
  • NSF: "Distributed Adaptive Systems: Feedback Control with Evolutionary Games" (Oct05-Sep09), PI.
