Maria Juliana Soto-Girón



I am a current Bioinformatics PhD student at Georgia Tech working under the advise of Dr. Konstantinidis. I am from Cali, Colombia and I have a full fellowship from the Colombian Government (Colciencias) to pursue my PhD studies. My interest is characterizing the composition, structure, and function of microbial communities from host- and environmental-associated habitats using genomic and metagenomic-based technologies. My main project is focused in the application of DNA-based metagenomic technologies to study the alteration of the human microbiome during a pathophysiological state.
