Learn about French business and technology by visiting companies and industrial sites in the Paris area. Discover French culture, architecture and arts by visiting must-see sites such as the Eiffel Tower, the musée d'Orsay, the Centre Pompidou, the Château de Versailles and the Domaine de Chantilly. Take a cruise on the river Seine, visit French TV studios, see a play at the Théâtre de la Huchette, and more...

The MIJE

Stay in the Maison Internationale des Jeunes et des Etudiants in the Quartier du Marais: it is in the 4e arrondissement de Paris, i.e., in the heart of Paris!!! Les MIJE used to be aristocratic mansions. They are located very close to the Seine and the rue de Rivoli, close to the Ile Saint Louis and to the Louvre. You are minutes away, by foot, from Notre Dame and the Quartier Latin.

Classes

Classes will meet on site, in a beautiful classroom with medieval style tables and (enormous) chairs. Just get up, have breakfast (inlcuded and available on site) and come to class, all in one beautiful place. No need to take any public transportation to come to class, no need to walk!!!

Classes are taught from Monday to Thursday (+ 2 Fridays of field trips), freeing up long week-ends to give you the option to explore neighboring regions or countries. Be in London in a couple of hours thanks to the Eurostar! The TGV will take you anywhere quickly, safely and for a modest fare.

Targeted students: there will be two levels with two differents books, Intermediate and Advanced. Students coming out of 1002, 2001 and 2002 will be placed in the Intermediate level. Students who took advanced classes at Tech (3000 and 4000 levels) will be placed in the Advanced group and will be given different readings.

Program fee

The program fee is $5,700. Price includes airfare, transportation from and to Roissy International airport, lodging, all breaksfasts, all dinners, books, site visits, field trips, and insurance. A $150 application fee is due at the time of application (not included in the program fee). First payment of $2,850 is due February 15th, balance of program fee ($2,850) is due March 15th. If you would like to purchase your own plane ticket (to redeem frequent flyer miles for instance), the program fee will be reduced by $1,100 (applicable to your last payment). Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid. Georgia Tech students may apply to the Program Director for the Modern Languages’ Campoamor scholarship (approximately $400). The HOPE scholarship does apply to tuition.

  • Additional information. Program descriptions and fees are subject to final approval by educational units and the Office of International Education. Georgia Tech reserves the right to alter or cancel this program due to low enrollment, unavailability of a professor to teach a planned course, or other unforeseen circumstances. Once Georgia Tech has made payments to service providers, or if Georgia Tech cancels the program before departure or while the program is in progress for reasons beyond its control, such as political unrest or danger to participants’ safety, only those fees that Georgia Tech is able to have refunded by service providers will be returned to participants. If a student withdraws from the program, the student will be responsible for the payment of all fees.
  • Fee payment information: Fees will be charged to your Oscar account on the due dates.  Make sure you make all necessary payments on time in order to avoid a hold on your account. Students expecting financial aid must submit a letter from the Financial Aid Office stating the allocation and date of payments expected. Tuition is due according to the Registrar’s schedule for summer tuition.
  • Students who—with the Program Director’s approval—apply and register for LBAT programs after the deadlines are responsible for Program Fee payments according to the original deadlines at the time of application or at the time of the applicant’s acceptance.
  • If you are a Non-GT (Transient/Special) student, you are required to submit TWO separate applications to the OIE. Please go to www.oie.gatech.edu/transient for details. Please complete your application by Feb 15th.
