LBAT France - Toulouse, 2007

Study for 6 weeks in Toulouse, at once a picturesque and vibrant city named la ville rose for both its quality of life (la vie en rose) and its softly colored architecture, much of which dates back to the Middle Ages. Second university city in France directly after Paris, 4th city in France for its size, Toulouse is young, dynamic, student-oriented and safe. Home to Airbus, Toulouse is a European leader in aerospace industries, electronics, information technologies, microbiology, biotechnologies and cancer research. Toulouse is a Pole of Competitivity both for aerospace and cancer research (canceropole).

  • Earn nine semester hours at the 3000 level. Interact with French student tutors during classes. Class numbers you will need to register for are FREN3691, FREN3692, FREN3693.
  • Learn about French business and technology by visiting companies and interacting with guest speakers. Join the class for a VIP tour of Airbus, Siemens,La Dépêche du Midi. Discover the rocket Arianne at the Cité de l'Espace.
  • Discover Toulouse's rich cultural heritage and architecture via guided tours and visits. Expand your knowledge of French architecture and history with day-long excursions to Albi and Carcassonne. Air-conditioned high-end tourism buses are rented for all field trips outside the city.
  • Take your daily classes in air-conditioned rooms at the prestigious Institut d'Etudes Politiques-Sciences Po, located in the center of Toulouse. Experience immersion by residing in carefully selected French homes, all located near our classroom, in the center of Toulouse. Most breakfasts and dinners are included in the program costs. Classes are taught from Monday to Thursday, freeing long week-ends to give you the option to explore France and neighboring countries. Barcelona is only 393 km from Toulouse. You can enjoy week-ends at the beach by going to Narbonne (about an hour drive) or Biarritz. Perpignan and the beautiful Colioure town (beloved by Matisse) are other close-by wonderful week-end destinations.
