    Program Evaluation in the Federal Government


    NSF Research, Evaluation, and Communication (REC)
    The Division contributes to the broad field of educational research and improvement by funding projects through grants, contracts, a nd cooperative agreements. It also provides conceptual and technical assistance to various EHR programs and principal investigators, through project and program evaluation, dissemination and implementation of knowledge and effective practices, and the utilization of technology in education.

    The Planning and Evaluation Service evaluates the performance of selected Department of Education programs and services to determine their effectiveness, efficiency, and equity. It is through evaluation studies that PES documents the progress and performance of go als established in the planning process.
