release year: 1999 (direct-to-video)
genre: action/horror
viewing setting: home VHS, 5/21/00
what I expected: no idea at all
what I got: the weakest of the trilogy
synopsis: In a story only vaguely related to the first movie, some bad-ass bank robbers get vampirized in the middle of a nighttime heist.
impressions: Same formula: a bunch of people get stuck in a vampire-filled situation and have to fight their way out. This one had some differences, however: it all started with only one vampire (a random encounter, at that) which then led to others being infected, one by one; the human protagonists died off faster than expected; there was a lot of gunfire as the Mexican SWAT team tried (and failed) to take back the bank from the vampires. Pretty action-packed stuff, but I didn't like it as much as the others in this series. Still, it's done in the same style, and was entertaining.
body count: high
acting: Much bad-ass machismo here.
final word: Worth seeing, but it's still the weakest of the three.
rating: C
