Our right to vote
I know last time I got in to a bit of a rant about my own personal life but I wanted to shift gears for tonight and talk a little bit about some other things that are going on in the world around us. For one thing, there is less than one week until we will all hopefully be voting for the next president of the united states. I for one am getting pretty excited about that fact and I can’t wait to see who we as a nation choose as our next leader. I haven’t been paying much attention to politics outside of the last few weeks because everyone I know has been talking about this stuff, but I have found some pretty interesting things coming from this election business.
For one thing, I have rediscovered a woman that I think many people had all but forgotten as of a few years ago. Tina Fey is getting some huge buzz about her spots on Saturday Night Live where I used to watch her as a writer and then as a actress. She used to do the fake news show every week and though it was during my least favorite period of SNL ever, she still made me laugh a lot more than everyone else on the show. Now she has been making spots on the show, as I am sure you all know, as the lovable Sarah Palin. I’ve watched her spots on NBC.com and they are pretty hilarious. This has led me to a most unpolitical discovery and that is her show, 30 Rock. I guess most people haven’t seen it because the ratings for it have been terrible. I personally think that it is just as funny as my favorite show, The Office( The American version not the British parent show). It’s essentially a show about her time as a writer on SNL and all of the stuff that goes on backstage, not really.
Back to where I started here folks. Go out and vote. I may not have a chance to talk to you by next week but I just want to know that I did my part to remind you to do your civic duty to this country.
